Yesterday we had our Westy community send-off at Ocean Beach.

There were two blue Westies, FOUR maroon ones, two brown ones, a cream-colored one, and several white ones.

Me in typical San Francisco in August attire: long underwear, two pairs of socks, three shirts, two hats, boots. I didn’t take any photos because I was too busy trying to make hot toddies without propane and show my non-Westy friends around our mobile home.

The cold didn’t seem to bother the Westy folks as much.

Yukon examines some engine work.

Toward the end of the night, we had to circle the wagons for warmth.

Everyone brought great food to share! Here you can see the Oakland Chimichurri and the Redwood City honeycomb.

We stayed until dark.

Thanks to everyone who came! We had such a great time. We sent people off with some cool prizes and even took home some of our own (which we will definitely post photos in use)! I neglected to take down mailing addresses to send postcards, but if you email us, we’ll send postcards. PROMISE.

When we get back, we should totally have a meet-up someplace warm and sunny. Like Baja. Or Oakland.

  1. The GTG was great , had a wonderful time eating and socialized in true Vanagon style. It was great oppertunity to show off my newest Burley Chevy Siverado prerunner style creation too.
I also really enjoyed meeting some of the people I have conversed on line.
We hope to see more of everyone at Van-O-Rama next weekend. Cheers Burley
