I think Stephanie’s last post sounded a bit more negative than either of us felt. Sure, our legs and arms are more bite than person, and our dog is more chicken than dog, but we’re having a blast. Right now we are camped, for the second night, on the beach by the lake, on the island of Ometepe. It had been since Baja that we hadn’t camped right on the beach for free, and it feels great.

Tomorrow we take the ferry back to the mainland, and we’ll make our way to Costa Rica in a day or two.

For now, here are some phone pictures from the last several months. They are not a good as Stephanie’s.

Tapalpa.

Cabo San Lucas.

  1. Inspiring! Overlanding can be hard work, but its the lows that help to underscore the highs.

We stayed at Magdalena and Chico Largo. Magdalena has some great views, and good access to the mountain trails. We really enjoyed ourselves.
