While Stephanie enjoyed her new office by the beach, I set off to make some extra storage for the Pony. It seems like I always need to have a project, something to fix or something to build.
I found Angel, a welder who was willing to work with me on this. After he made the base for Stephanie’s table, I went back with a more ambitious project.
We made a metal frame.
With hinges and a grill at the base.
To be mounted under the van.
The hinges are mounted with bolts across the beams, very very solid.
It takes four bolts to swing it down, and it has a place for a lock, out of view.
Since the propane tank is on the other side and goes just as low, I’m not losing any clearance.
That’s me, putting some rubberized bedliner on.
And that’s Angel, the welder.
It took four days of designing and building, and it all cost $50. It would have been $500 or so in California! And now I have some extra space for tools and spares.
I know, boring. But these are the ways I have fun these days :)
